House in Sandymount

Nestled in the vibrant neighbourhood of Sandymount, Dublin 4, a renovation project unfolded within a three-story terraced house built in the 1970s. Starting from the basement level, distinct areas were carefully crafted to enhance the functionality of the space. A cozy study area was thoughtfully designed, providing a peaceful retreat for work or leisure. Adjacent to the study, a comfortable guest bedroom was created, accompanied by a stylish bathroom/laundry room. This basement level now offers a harmonious balance between privacy and tranquility.

 

Ascending to the upper-ground floor, the heart of the home reveals itself. The upper entrance level has been transformed into a welcoming and versatile living and entertaining area. By removing existing walls, the space has been opened up, allowing for effortless movement and a sense of airiness. A newly designed staircase gracefully leads upward, seamlessly blending with the living area. Timber vertical slats were introduced, adding a touch of architectural charm and visually integrating the staircase as a unique feature.

 

Continuing our journey, we arrive at the top floor, where three inviting bedrooms await. Among them, the master bedroom provides a serene retreat, complete with its own en-suite bathroom. The remaining bedrooms have been thoughtfully designed to accommodate family members or guests, ensuring comfort and privacy. Additionally, a new main bathroom was introduced, boasting modern amenities and tasteful design.

 

This meticulous renovation project has breathed new life into the 1970's terraced house, carefully balancing functionality and aesthetics. From the tranquil basement level with its separate study and guest bedroom, to the open and inviting main living area on the ground floor, and finally, to the serene bedrooms and stylish bathrooms on the top floor, this Sandymount residence embodies the essence of comfortable and contemporary living.
